🐻 Something new is coming to Mojo (and I'm going back to my roots)
A new series, a new monthly rhythm, and a gentler way to build a writing life that actually fits yours
Hey loves —
I need to tell you about something that’s been quietly taking shape over here, because it’s the most me thing I’ve built in a long while, and I want you in on it from the very start.
Starting Monday, July 13th, we’re kicking off a brand-new series at Mojo — and I’m going back to my teaching roots to do it. So, grab your tea (or your iced coffee, no judgment 🧊☕), because this one’s a little different.
The series: The 12 Pillars of a Sustainable Writing Life
Here’s the thing I’ve learned the hard way, over and over: most writing advice is built for a writer who doesn’t exist. You know… the one with endless discipline, a tidy schedule, a nervous system made of granite, and a life that politely gets out of the way so the words can flow.
That’s probably not you. It’s certainly not me. 🤪🐻
Real writing lives happen inside real, messy, chaotic, beautiful lives — lives with day jobs and flare-ups and grief and joy and overflowing inboxes and cats staging coups on the keyboard. (Ask me how I know. 🐈⌨️)
Your writing isn’t separate from that life. It’s part of it — one thread in the one big, wild life each of us gets.
So, over the next several weeks, we’re going to build — together — a framework for a writing life that fits your actual life.
Twelve pillars: Clarity, Process, Consistency, Momentum, Resilience, Energy, Community, Growth, Craft, Confidence, Identity, and the one nobody talks about — the Writer’s Nervous System.
Two promises about how I teach it, because they matter:
I’m not a guru, and I won’t pretend to be one — I’m the Anti-Guru. 🤣 I’m a fully-flawed, actively-healing, life-survivalist who’s learned most of this the hard way. So, I won’t hand you my system and tell you to obey it. What works beautifully for one writer is useless for another — and what works for you today might not work in six months, and that’s not failure, that’s called being alive and human. I teach the framework for building your own version. You stay the authority on you. 🧭
And there’s always an easy-tech twist. Thirty+ years in tech taught me one non-negotiable rule: if a tool adds overwhelm, it doesn’t come in the house. So, at every pillar, I’ll show you one small, gentle way easy tech can bring your writing life more ease — never more complication. Tech with soul. Always.
Now — here’s the “something different” part 🎉
You get to choose how deep you go. No pressure, no wrong answer:
🌿 Path 1 — Just read along, free. The public posts land twice a week (Mondays & Thursdays) starting July 13. Show up, read, take what serves you, leave the rest. That’s it. Free, forever, no strings.
✨ Path 2 — Come deeper, into the Mojo Den. Here’s where I’m bringing back something I’ve missed: live teaching. Once a month, I’ll host a live workshop where we go beyond the blog and actually build the framework together — with the exercises, the deeper stories I don’t share on the open internet, and a live Q&A at the end where I get to answer your questions in real time.
And because I know life is life — the workshop is recorded and kept for members. So, you can come live if you can or watch it in your jammies at midnight three weeks later and revisit it as many times as you need. It’s not going anywhere. No dumb FOMO or hustle-bro marketing, no “be there or miss out.” It’s just here, waiting for you, whenever you’re ready. That’s the whole point. 💜
Members get the workshop and every future monthly workshop after it — because yes, this becomes a monthly rhythm. New month, new gathering, but old-deep roots. 🌙
All of that is $9.99 a month — cancel anytime, no hard feelings. And I'll be honest with you about why I'm a little proud of that price: where else do you get an entire workshop each month — with a live Q&A and free replays — without having to buy some pricier "premium ticket" nonsense just to access it? The Den is the ticket. Ten bucks, everything included. 🎟️
🗓️ Save the date: our very first workshop is Monday, August 3rd
That gives you all of the first six pillars and plenty of time to decide if the Den is for you. And here’s the honest math: even if you join on July 13th, you’ll still be comfortably inside your first month when the August 3rd workshop happens — with room to spare to decide whether you’d like to stay. Peek for a month, cancel anytime, no hard feelings. I mean that. 🐾
And — because I'd be a poor teacher if I did otherwise — it's on a weekday afternoon, on purpose. I can't very well help you build a framework for making your writing fit sustainably inside your real life — boundaries and days off very much included — if I don't live by that framework myself. So, I've moved it into my actual working hours and kept my weekends as days off. (I went from working literally seven days a week to a scandalous five, like a real human who apparently needs rest. Who knew. 🐻😂) The whole workshop is recorded and kept for you anyway, so come live if a weekday works, or catch the replay whenever your real life allows. That's the point.
You don’t have to decide anything today. The free posts start the 13th regardless. But if some part of you has been craving a warm, un-hustle-y room where tech and craft and your actual nervous system all get to sit at the same table — the door to the Den is open, and there’s a cup of tea with your name on it. ☕
I’ve missed teaching. I’ve really missed it. And I couldn’t be more excited to do it this way — gentler, realer, and built around the truth that you are a whole human, not a word-count machine.
See you Monday the 13th to kick off the series. 🌟
With a warm heart and a full teapot,
🐻 Stacy / The Mojo Mama Bear 💜
P.S. — There’s a little friends-and-family perk baked into membership: invite fellow writers who’d love this too, and you can earn free months of your own just for spreading the warmth. The details live on the referral page — but no pressure, ever. This circle grows best by genuine word-of-mouth, one soul-led writer telling another. 🐾
