When the Money Dried Up – Rebuilding Safety from Scarcity
This week, something ancient cracked open… again.
Not with a bang—but with the whispered terror of a mother during a time when she might not have enough to feed her son or her cats.
For me, scarcity and lack have been (and are right now) the hardest of my old mindsets to reprogram—because they’ve been such an ingrained part of my life for the majority of it, and often because they show up in subtle ways.
So, if any of you are feeling those rather suffocating feelings: scarcity, lack, not-enough… then I want you to know, you are not alone.
There is a particular ache to money fear when you’ve survived long stretches of scarcity. It doesn’t just whisper “you need more”... it screams that you are failing.
I felt it in my bones this week. In my gut. In my dreams. Three of them, actually—each one taking from me the things I love most in the most brutal ways. Dreams that didn't just unsettle me. They warned me.
