💌 Letters from the Rebuild #18
Wins, Balance, and Peter Dinklage 😍
There are weeks when the rebuild feels shiny. Sparkly. Like a perfect Instagram post.
And then there are weeks like this one. The ones where “success” looks like taking your meds late after forgetting breakfast. Where you unbox a microwave and feel victorious because heating soup tomorrow will be easy. Where the new treadmill finally got claimed from the cats, (though they kept the box lol)… not as a new, shiny, shrine of neglect, but as a promise to future-me: “You’ll get stronger here.”
This week was Week 2 at my new ITS Controller job, and something clicked. I’m not just surviving a new workload. I’m enjoying it. I’m contributing. I’m even excited about tackling their backlog—because helping clear lingering data feels like the mirror image of what I’m learning to do at home: shrink piles of overwhelm into small, doable steps.
But here’s the truer part: the Nine of Swords followed me.
It whispered in my dreams (Peter Dinklage as a BBQ thief, if you can believe it 😂😂). It buzzed in the mornings: “You’ll never catch up.” It hummed around the edges of every task: backlog, backlog, backlog.
And yet… I chose.
