💌 Letters from the Rebuild #16
"Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you." 🐻
This week, one card in particular stood out in all the ones I pulled… the Ten of Swords landed. At first glance, it’s one of the most dramatic cards in the deck—flat on the ground, swords in your back, sky dark as midnight. But instead of despair, what came through was almost… funny.
"Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you." 🐻
And then I remembered a dream from this week: Deven and I standing inside a massive, white-brick mansion. Room after room, bigger than I’d ever imagined. At first, someone sneered—“Maybe you can’t afford this.” But then I turned, smiled, and said: “Actually, it’s mine. My grandmother left it to me. It was meant for me.”
That’s when it hit me: the Ten of Swords isn’t about defeat. It’s about release. It’s about finally catching the old stories that tried to bleed me dry—and choosing not to play them anymore.
