Crossing the Waters of Fatigue and Fear

The Six of Swords drifted into my spread this morning like a tired little ferryboat — soft, slow, and steady. The message was clear:

“Seek out space to calm your emotions and think things through. It’s hard to have clear perspective when emotions are high. You may be aware that you need to make changes in your life, but it’s important to soothe yourself first. Taking time to care for yourself will help you see the way forward.”

And whew… that hit home.

Because lately, I’ve been bone-deep tired — that kind of exhaustion that sleep alone doesn’t fix. The kind that comes when the body finally feels safe after years of running on adrenaline… but the mind hasn’t caught up yet.

This is the Six of Swords in motion.

It’s the space after the storm, when you’re no longer fighting the waves — but you’re still too weary to enjoy the calm.

🪶 Part 1: For the Writers

The Six of Swords is the card of transition and healing through movement.

It doesn’t demand productivity. It invites recovery.
It says: You don’t have to row fast. You just have to keep the boat steady.

For writers, this often means recognizing when the stillness between projects, between bursts of energy, between drafts — is not failure. It’s the sacred crossing between who you were and who you’re becoming.

💭 If this card finds you today, consider:

  • Maybe your exhaustion is the body’s way of enforcing the break your mind won’t give you.

  • Maybe the silence before the next story is where your voice reconfigures itself.

  • Maybe “doing nothing” isn’t avoidance — it’s integration.

When your creative tides ebb, it’s not that the magic is gone — it’s that it’s recalibrating.

🌊 Try this today:

  • Write a single sentence that begins with “I’m crossing…” and see what emerges.

  • Breathe between words.

  • Let your inner writer rest, and trust she’s not disappearing — she’s drifting toward new shores.

Today’s Practical Magick:

🕯️ The Soothe & Streamline Spell

  • Clear one small surface — your desk, your nightstand, your altar.

  • As you wipe or tidy, whisper:

“I make space for peace. I create from calm.”

  • Light a candle or diffuse lavender oil as you finish.

  • Drink a full glass of water and imagine it rinsing exhaustion from your spirit.
