The Hanged Man – Patience, Pause, and Seeing Differently

This card greeted me this morning with a very clear message:

“You may feel frustrated that things aren’t moving as quickly as you’d like today. Be patient. Don’t try to force things to happen. Take this time of waiting as an opportunity to practice being present with yourself. You may find that when you let go of your expectations, things turn out different — maybe even better — than you’d hoped.”

And I want to share it in two parts—because the Hanged Man isn’t just a card of suspension. It’s a card of sovereign surrender.

🪶 Part 1: For the Writers

The Hanged Man is the archetype of pause, patience, and new perspective.

It shows up when:

  • You’re trying to force a writing routine, but your body or schedule just isn’t there yet.

  • You feel guilty about the backlog or “not enough words.”

  • You sense things are building (like the Waxing Gibbous moon above us), but you can’t quite access the full rhythm yet.

This isn’t punishment. It’s preparation.

The Hanged Man asks us to:

  • Stop wrestling the river.

  • Try a new angle. (Even 10 minutes of jotting counts as forward motion.)

  • Trust that suspension isn’t failure — it’s integration.

✨ Why it matters for writers:

Sometimes your most important work is not the sprint, but the stillness that lets new creative solutions appear.

Today’s Practical Magick:

Every time you refill your water, whisper: “I flow with patience and power.” Let hydration be your anchor ritual.
