Seven of Wands â Holding the Line When Everything Pushes Back
Iâm a bit late posting this morning â the big snowstorm turned into more of an icestorm for us here in this part of West Virginia and internet has been up and down (mostly down LOL) all day â but 1/4â + of ice on the lines will do that. đ¤Ş
This card didnât tiptoe in this morning.
It showed up with its shoulders squared and its feet planted.
The Seven of Wands is the card of standing your ground when the pressure stacks up all at once â not because you went looking for a fight, but because something youâve already earned is being challenged.
And today, that feels⌠painfully on point.
I want to share this pull in two parts â because the Seven of Wands doesnât just speak to me. It speaks to every writer, creator, and soul-builder who is tired of defending their right to exist, create, and be paid fairly.
đž Part 1: For the Writers
The Seven of Wands shows up when:
Your income stream suddenly becomes unstable
Agreements you counted on start shifting mid-stream
Systems push back just as youâre regaining your footing
You feel like youâre constantly having to explain or justify your work
Youâre exhausted â but also deeply aware that walking away isnât an option
This card is not about hustling harder.
Itâs about protecting your ground.
The Seven of Wands appears when you are already on higher ground â even if it doesnât feel that way. And being on higher ground means you get noticed, challenged, tested.
Hereâs the quiet truth most people miss:
đĄď¸ This card doesnât ask you to fight everything.
It asks you to choose what is worth defending.
For writers, that means:
Your creative sovereignty
Your pricing, boundaries, and paywalls
Your pace
Your right to build slowly, sustainably, and on your own terms
This is the card of strategic resistance â not burning yourself out trying to prove your worth, but refusing to surrender what matters.
đ And under a First Quarter Moon, this energy sharpens:
This is about decisions, not endurance.
Boundaries, not martyrdom.
âď¸ Writers donât just build worlds â they defend them.
And not every battle deserves your body.
đĽ Todayâs Practical Magick
Contain the fire. Donât extinguish it.
When the pressure spikes:
Name one thing you are no longer negotiating
Take 4 slow breaths, longer on the exhale
Step away before exhaustion hits
This is how you hold the line without breaking yourself.
