Five of Pentacles — Cold Outside, Not Abandoned

This card showed up today like a quiet truth I couldn’t ignore.

The Five of Pentacles is the card of scarcity — not imagined scarcity, but felt scarcity.
The kind that lives in your body. In your bones. In the long weeks where support feels thin and you’re carrying more than is reasonable alone.

This card doesn’t judge that.

It simply asks us to look at it honestly.

đŸȘ¶ Part 1: For the Writers

The Five of Pentacles often appears when:

  • You’re creating while exhausted

  • You’re holding a vision with limited resources

  • You’re questioning whether wanting more is worth the cost

  • You’re doing the work — but not feeling supported by systems

For writers, this card is especially tender.

Because creative people often blame themselves for structural scarcity.

But this card says:

You are not failing — you are responding to conditions.

The magic of the Five isn’t in “pushing through.”

It’s in recognizing where warmth exists — and allowing yourself to step toward it.

Sometimes that warmth is rest.
Sometimes it’s narrowing focus.
Sometimes it’s choosing one aligned path instead of five draining ones.

đŸ”„ Today’s Practical Magick

The Warmth Check

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I cold — physically, emotionally, creatively?

  • What would add even 5% more warmth today?

Then do only that.

Rest is not quitting.
It is survival magic.

❄ A Winter Storm Note from Mama Bear

If you’re in the path of this winter storm like I am, please take extra care of yourself today.

Stay warm, move slowly, and don’t push past your body’s limits if you don’t have to.

Bring pets inside, check on those who might be alone, and make sure you’ve got water, food, and warmth squared away before things get rough.

Sometimes the most magical thing we can do is choose safety, softness, and rest.

May your lights stay on, your hearth stay warm, and your sanctuary hold. đŸ»âœš
