The Star â You Are the Light You've Been Waiting For
On remembering that you are not just someone who works under the stars â you are made of them.
đď¸ Part 1: For the Writers
The Star doesnât rush.
Look at her â kneeling at the waterâs edge in her deep purple robes, face lifted toward that blazing pink-white star overhead, one open paw raised. And from that paw? Starlight itself, pouring in glittering streams down into the water below, sending ripples of light spreading outward in perfect rings.
She is not frantic. She is not behind. She is not making up for lost time.
She is simply... pouring. Steadily. Faithfully. What she has received from above, she returns below. The light moves through her. She is the conduit, and she trusts it completely.
This is the card that comes after the hard season.
Not during it â after it. The Star follows The Tower in the Major Arcana for a reason. She doesnât show up when everything is fine and easy. She shows up when youâve just been through something that shook the foundations, when the dust is still settling, when youâre still a little tender and wide-eyed and not entirely sure what comes next.
She shows up and she says: Look up. The sky is still full of stars.
For writers, The Star carries a very specific message that I think most of us desperately need to hear right now:
You are not just someone who works. You are someone who was made to create. And those are not the same thing.
We spend so much time in the logistics of our creative lives. The word counts. The upload schedules. The royalty dashboards. The algorithm. The newsletter open rates. The âam I doing enough, producing enough, growing fast enoughâ spiral that shows up reliably at 2am whether we invited it or not.
And all of that is real. All of that matters. This Mama Bear will not tell you to ignore your metrics and just manifest abundance. LOL
But The Star is asking you to lift your face up from all of that â just for a moment â and remember something foundational:
You write because something in you is lit from within. And that light is not contingent on your productivity.
Look at the bear in this card. Sheâs not pouring from a cup she filled herself. Sheâs receiving from the star above and channeling it downward. The light moves through her. Her job is not to generate the light â her job is to stay open enough to receive it and trust enough to let it flow.
When did you last let yourself receive instead of just produce?
When did you last sit with your work and feel genuinely lit up by it â not proud of finishing it, not relieved itâs done, but actually illuminated by the fact that you get to do this at all?
The Star is not asking you to stop working. Sheâs asking you to remember why you started.
Because writers who remember why they started write differently than writers who are just trying to keep up. They write with that particular quality of light that readers feel but canât quite name â the thing that makes someone underline a sentence and send it to their best friend at midnight.
That quality doesnât come from hustle. It comes from remembering you are made of the same stuff as every story that has ever mattered.
You are not just writing books. You are pouring starlight into water. And the ripples go further than you can see from where youâre kneeling. đ
Three questions to sit with today:
What would you write if you werenât afraid it wouldnât be âenoughâ?
Where in your creative life have you been generating from depletion instead of receiving from that open, upturned place?
What does your writing look like when you actually trust the light?
đż Todayâs Practical Magick
Before you open your manuscript or your draft document today, try this:
Sit for just sixty seconds. Hands open in your lap â palms up, like the bearâs paw. Take one slow breath in. And say quietly:
I donât have to generate the light. I just have to stay open to it.
Then write. See what comes through differently. đžâ¨

This is where The Mojo Mama Bear gets âbearâ bones honest about what this card stirred up this morning and what it looks like living this energy in a real, unglamorous, beautifully imperfect creative life.
