This card showed up for me this morning… and I didn’t even need to pull it to feel it.

I woke up from a dream so thick with resentment it practically stuck to my skin. In the dream, I was "volunteered" to help at some massive event—expected to give, perform, produce—without being asked. Overwhelmed. Invisible. Unheard.

Then I checked my email stats from the course launch and saw it:
Nada.

🪶 Part 1: For the Writers

The Five of Swords is a card of aftermath.

It shows up after a battle has been fought—often one that was unwinnable from the start. It doesn’t mean you “lost.” It means the cost of engagement wasn’t worth the victory.

This card whispers to every indie author who has:

  • Launched something that flopped, even though they poured heart and soul into it.

  • Created something sacred that was met with silence.

  • Been expected to “show up” and “produce” while being undervalued or unseen.

The Five of Swords is the ghost of burnout, the echo of every “why bother,” the ache of offering too much to people who didn’t deserve your labor.

But here's the real power of this card:

🌕 You don’t have to win every battle.
You can walk away with your soul intact.

This card invites you to:

  • Reclaim your energy from people who never asked how you’re really doing.

  • Pull your creations back from the wrong audience.

  • Say “no” to the silent expectations that drain you dry.

  • Pivot—not out of defeat—but out of deep sovereignty.
