Five of Swords – Choosing Peace Over Proving a Point
This card came to me this morning with a whisper that felt more like a sigh. Not a shout. Not a scream. Just the quiet ache of a soul that’s tired of fighting (but thankfully it came with kitty cuddles, too).
🪶 Part 1: For the Writers
The Five of Swords shows up when you feel like you're defending your very existence. When every day feels like a dozen battles—each one bleeding out your energy, your faith, your creative spark.
For writers, it might look like this:
Arguing with yourself over every sentence
Trying to prove your worth by doing more
Getting pulled into online noise or comparison
Feeling like your whole life is one long war for visibility, money, and validation
It’s the card that says: Not every hill is yours to die on.
Not every comment deserves a response.
Not every “should” deserves your obedience.
And here’s the sacred truth it offers:
🌿 You don’t have to win every battle to win the war.
Some days, peace is the braver path.
Some days, rest is resistance.
Today’s Practical Magick:
🧘 Whisper to yourself: “This moment is mine. I choose where my energy goes.”
Then close your eyes and picture a sword gently dissolving into light in your hands. No more fighting shadows. Just claiming space.
