Eight of Cups – Walking Away, Waking Home
This morning the Eight of Cups slipped from the deck and landed face-up, as if to say, “You already know.”
And I did.
Because today begins my Sanctuary Reset—four days of reclaiming my house, my energy, and my peace.
The Eight isn’t about running away; it’s about walking toward what finally fits.
It shows up when we realize: the cups we once tended are empty now.
When the love that used to nourish us has turned into the residue that clings to corners.
When the only way to fill our own chalice again is to leave the table that no longer feeds us.
✍️ Part 1: For the Writers
Writers know this card in our bones.
It’s the moment you look around your creative life and whisper, “I can’t stay here anymore.”
The old projects, the stale marketing tactics, the obligations that keep you small—those are the eight cups you’ve been dutifully refilling even though they leak.
This card invites you to:
Step away from what drains. You don’t have to keep saying yes to things that silence your voice.
Re-center your rituals. Clean your desk, your drafts folder, your inner dialogue.
Write your way forward. Every sentence is a step up that moonlit hill toward sovereignty.
💫 Why it matters:
The Eight of Cups is the author’s permission slip to pivot, pause, or purge.
You aren’t quitting; you’re creating room for what’s next.
🕯️ Today’s Practical Magick:
As you tidy one space—desk, shelf, or inbox—whisper:
“I leave behind what no longer serves.
I walk toward what my soul is writing next.”
